Windows vista eating up unknown space.?

i just got a new gateway laptop with a dual core processor with windows vista. vista seems to run awesome on my machine, the only problem is that somehow it is eating up gigs of my hard drive at a time without me installing any software, and no it is not the virtual memory i already checked that. it is not a virus/spyware. i use macafee 2007 and it picks up nothing!

all that i have installed is about 4 gigs of music, office 2007, vista, aim pro, and some other stuff it came with.

why is it eating up a gig or 2 every single day?

can someone help me?

Your question is no clear, vista by itself takes about 4 to 5 GB.
