How to automatically disconnect a Wireless Network Connection when connecting to a Virtual Private Network?

I have just got my office VPN added to my laptop in order to work from home, but when I connect to it my Wireless Network Connection stays on and I don't seem to be able to access my work network (comes up with internet cannot display the webpage page). On my old computer when I connected to my office VPN my normal internet connection disconnected automatically and it all worked fine. Does anyone know how I can set this up again? Disconnecting the Wireless Network Connection manually also disconnects the VPN so that's not an option either. Thankyou

Are you using the VPN client built into Windows (Control Panel \ Network Connections) or a 3rd party VPN client like the Cisco software?

I've never heard of the Windows client doing that, but the Cisco client (and perhaps others) may want to disconnect your computer from any other networks (including your wireless network) for security.
