Can u give answer for the following questions?(interview questions)(Pls help)?

1. what is booting proccess.
2.Difference between win 98,win2000,winxp.
3.difference in ram,rom.
4.what is the need of file system (i.e why we need it).
5.in a lan with 20 pc r connected to switch which r pinging with each but when a pc from other office can access 19 pc except one . wat happed ?
6.difference in paging file, cache memory, virtual memory.

1: 'Booting' is the start-up process for a computer (originally 'bootstrapping' from "pulling oneself up by one's own boot straps" - meaning to do something without any outside help). It is where the computer goes through the POST (Power On Self Test) to check that all parts of it are functioning correctly before loading the operating system.

2: Seriously? There are so many differences between these operating systems that whole books have been written about them!

3: RAM stands for Random Access Memory and acts as temporary storage for data while the computer is on, but loses all data when power is off. This memory can be written to and read by the PC.
ROM stands for Read Only Memory and has data stored permanently in it. The contents of ROMs remains the same regardless of power on or off. This memory can not be written to by the PC, only read.

4: A file system is needed to let the computer know where each file is stored on the drive.

5: The PC from the other office has the same network address as the one that its trying to access.

6: A Page File is virtual storage used by the PC. I.e. when the entirety of a program or file is too large to fit in the available memory (RAM), part is temporarily stored in the Page File. When needed, part or all of the Page File is swapped with the contents of the RAM so that the computer can access it.
Cache Memory is very fast RAM that is built into the processor. This is used faster memory which is used to store frequently used data, allowing the proccessor to access it faster than it would do if it were just stored in normal RAM. Generally speaking, the bigger the cache memory, the faster the processor will perform tasks.
Virtual Memory is a method of using other forms of storage as a way of extending the available memory. At its most basic level it means using storage space on the hard drive to store part or all of a program or file being used by the computer when there is not enough RAM available to fit everything in. A Page File is a type of Virtual Memory. Please note that using Virtual Memory will dramatically slow down any operations being performed due to the difference in access and transfer speeds between the syatem RAM and the hard drive.

I can answer all those questions. However, they don't look like interview questions. Never been asked a question like those in an interview in my life They look more like homework questions.
