What is the best way for me to have access to my files from home and office?

I use XP professional.I need to find a solution to the problem of keeping my work computer updated with the recent updates to projects I take home with me. I used to use a 2 GB USB drive, but I have outgrown this. And VNC programs are too slow. I need some suggestions on possibly an online storage site or a collaboration site that would be easy to setup and transfers files to and from. Or a Virtual desktop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
