For those that will not vote Hillary or Obama...?

Huckabee will not round up the moderates and independents, so he is a virtual loser in the final run to the Presidency. McCain is the Republican that can be voted into office by Reps and centrists?

Yup, I'm a dem and McCain is the only Republican I would consider voting for and may even vote for over Hillary.

i agree, huckabee is way to conservative to win the presidency, and mccain is widely known for appealing to both parties, hes the republicans best choice it seems. I just worry he won't do well in South Carolina next week against Huckabee, because there the only issues they seem to be interested in are 'Bible, Jesus, God'...

I am going to be hardheaded and say Huckabee First then McCain. I would be happy with either one.

McCain has alot of military experience. That is something we need. However, Mitt has the experience to run the economy. I think a Romney/McCain ticket would be the way to go.

Seriously, McCain can not win the republican nomination, even as an anyone-but-Hillary candidate. McCain-Feingold and his stance on illegal immigration pretty much puts him to rest.

Huckabee is a mediocre threat to take the nomination because he has a mostly populist positioning. People mistake his religous fundamentalism for his being a Conservative. He is far from being a Conservative, and it is precisely his populist schtick that will NOT earn him the nod.

So, that leaves us back to where we were last fall: Guliani and Romney. My personal feeling is that Guliani implodes at some point during the campaign. The guy has so many skeletons in his personal life closet that eventually they start hurting him. Plus, does anyone really think that if her thighness gets the dem nod that she won't use that stuff against him?
