Installing MS OFFICE in other(virtual) drive ?

I want to know, If I install MS office in other drive, I mean other than main drive where WINDOWS are installed. Will it be working safely even after formatting the main drive ?

You can Install the Microsoft Office (97, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005 version) in any drive with enough space but make sure your own drive with Windows Directory has the enough disk space. Because I tried it but It won't continue.

Talking about formatting and working safely, but the answer is NO. Any other software who is installing it on other drive will not definitely run. The Registry Keys doesn't exist on the drive. All Reg Keys are saved in Windows Directory (commonly as C:\).

So as a Summary:

The MS Office will not run when you format your Drive C:\ (Default drive where Windows is installed). Reg Keys are deleted.

yeah it will be working untill you don't format your windows,because the files that are associated with running Ms Office are puted in the drive where windows is installed .like programm files,windows folder and so on....

No, because the dll files are saved in Windows. You'll have to reinstall Office.

Well, it depends on the version on the Office, you want to install. It will not work if you're trying to install office 2007. But if you're using windows XP or Win2000 with office XPor 2003 , most probably work. As i've already done before, if you're not able to run the office applications after reinstalling. you can click on the uninstall file in the other directory (where you've installed the office), where you'll find the option to repair it. Or the second thing you can do is simply take the dumb (copy all the files on the current installation disk) to any other partition of your hard drive, and simply install it again
