How can I access my office computer Remotely from home? My office computer has a virtual IP.?

How can I access my office computer Remotely from home? My office computer has a virtual IP. I can not use a program that needs real IP to access the computer. My IP is 192.168.0.*

Don't worry about posting that IP as it's private, here's mine 192.168.100.111, so what there is not a thing you can do with it unless you gain access to my internal network and your not going to.

Anyway go to www.dyndns.com and get a free account and get their IP updating software. If you have XP Pro you can turn on remote access under System and then open a port on your firewall to forward RDP thru the firewall to your PC. You'll want to change your PC to be static on the internal network and probably change the default port for RDP on the PC (use same on firewall) so your less easy to find. Make sure you have a secure (and that means strong, very strong) password on your PC and your done. From the remote PC just use Remote Desktop to connect to your Dynamic name on the correct port, myofficePC.dyndns.org:1234

first of all...be careful telling people ur IP...

we use goto my pc at work here. There are alternatives but this seems like the most effective.

Remove your IP address ! hackers might be reading!

Thats the ip that your router assigns you, go to testmy.net and do a WHOIS and that should reveal your ip address. *note* that is not a real ip address and no one can hack it unless they share your network, A.k.a connected through your router Wirelessly or Wired and plus for them to do that they will first need to kno the last set of digits instead of the wildcard.

Your IP is a generic Windows IP address. There is an easy way to do this, if you have a broadband/dsl at home AND you have windows XP AND your office computer is also on broadband/dsl AND you are not blocked by any firewalls; THEN you can use remote desktop connection to log in and out of your office PC. If any of those conditions are not met then you will have a more difficult time getting acces to you computer. If you do not have broadband/dsl, then you should think about vpn. You would have to contact your Network Admin at work for a firewall pinhole (if there is a firewall).
