I would like to apply to an existing Virtual Assistant business.?

I have surfed the net and submitted my resume and information to what I found where real employment but have not heard a word. Any further answers I would appreciate. I will not pay a fee or someone else for me to work for them (those are scams!!)

You can check with some of the women that frequent www.wahm.com. There's a separate forum on that site that has people currently working as virtual assistants. They may have some ideas and/or suggestions for you.

Virtual assistants are not in high demand, you will want to look into other virtual opportunties. Most will involve sales of some kind just go on the monster or careerbuilder and put only the word virtual in the search line and you should get a whole lot of postings. they of course will require that you have all the necessary office equipment for your positions from phone to fax and printer/scanner. Good luck and keep your head up you will get something.

you can get this thru scottrade. www.scottrade.com

Your best option is to find a local virtual staffing firm. Not a website-based firm, but a firm with a physical location. You can then try to sell yourself to them, and go from there.

However, it is not an easy field to break in to, I assure you.

You might be better off going to a staffing agency (AppleOne, Manpower, Ultimate Staffing, etc) and tell them your ideal job is one at which you can EVENTUALLY work remotely. No one will want to hire you to work remotely right off the bat, however many companies allow employees who have proven themselves valuable to work from home.

Good luck.

I beg to differ with a previous answer you were given. The virtual assistant industry is one of the biggest booming areas today for legitimate work at home opportunities. I am a virtual assistant myself and I specialize in secretarial and transcription work, but there are so many areas that a VA can specialize in. So many small businesses are using the services of VAs as opposed to employing staff due to the benefits and cost savings. I'm confused with your question, but I'm sure you will find a wealth of information the site below. I have also included a link to reputable virtual assistant job banks and staffing agencies.
