Any virtual Assistant?

I have about 4 years of Office Experience, great people skills and an associates degree in Business.
I would love to work from home to be more available to my children but I'm afraid of putting myself in a financial hole. I hate to be backed up on bills. How long will it take for me to become succesful? How can I go about this? I know I need to make moves b/c if I stay put..I'll never get anywhere in life. Can anyone give me ideas or tell me how you did it?

I'm a virtual assistant. It's not that difficult to set yourself up as an independent contractor and your start up costs are very low compared to other businesses. There is so much information for you here....
