I am thinking of being a VA (virtual Assistant) anyone?

I would like to set up a business at home.

1 - set up a physical location - an office space - in your home. Then get every possible communication device set up - computer, land line, cell/blackberry, fax, scanner, printer, digital camera - the whole works.

2 - check out your municipality for all of the paperwork you'll need to do to set up a business in your home. Where I live, I can't have a sign outside my door - little things like that.

3 - start spreading the news. Be specific about the types of services you can offer and a breakdown of prices. Include travel expenses - gas isn't going to be getting any cheaper. Put your services on Craigs List and local bulletin boards. Then start introducing yourself to every large office in your area - lawyers, insurance, real estate, architects.

4 - Consider adding to your existing services - are you a notary? Can you or would you file paperwork in court for a fee? Look for new opportunities to expand your clientele.
