Virtual comedy


Who are these day dreamers,
Spider web weavers,
Tangled in a language,
They barely understand,
Expressionless bumblers,
Affectionless stumblers,
Begging for praise,
Trapped in a maze,
Of mindless keystroke mumbling.

I must apologize in advance to everyone whom this will offend. This one is dedicated to whomever it is that keeps flagging me. To my friends鈥he new situation is growing. There will soon be a real virtual coffee shop.

America was built by men who did their business in the open air, face to face, hand to hand. There was no need for a written agreement, as long as the secretary recorded the transaction.

When you decide that someone else does not deserve a voice because what they have said offends you, it is YOU that has offended. Free speech is the only real freedom. It costs money to buy a gun, a newspaper or to start a church.

But, they aren't as good as what I have seen here,

to answer your question, I really like Taipei, and will be flying to Hong Kong soon... will say howdy to all the hoisting wenches there...

hang in there, son, the ones who hate us do not win unless we hate them back, and I know you do not hate, so you are OK...

Is it hate or anger? I prefer it with "comedy" rather than "tragedy". As you wrote, there is no epic here. Maybe drama sometimes, or even melodrama.
I love what you write about the American values (the sort of things that the Marquis de La Fayette was fighting for too!).

If people are offended by this: Good.

Free speech is too important to be limited to what a narrow minority considers appropriate. We should not live in terror of the expression of contrary ideas.

TD, I think I should be wildly offended, but I'm not sure; multisyllabicism confuses me...

Kidding aside, I enjoyed this one. Anytime playful and scathing can be combined in one nine-line poem, there is clear talent involved. I am not privy to the flagging nonsense going on, but I trust it will pass in time. Meanwhile, keep posting!
