What are 6-7 good companies to invest in?

I am doing a business 101 project and I have to buy virtual stock from 6-10 companies, and I'd appreciate some help.

I can recommend 6-7, but if I do that will defeat the object of your business 101 class which is to do some research and find those companies yourself, based on your research.

I will however offer you some help. Go to Fidelity and sign up for a 30 day free trial of their research. It is excellent. Once there and signed up get into their resarch and begin researching.

Another good source is Yahoo finance. They allow you to perform stock screens. Screen for companies that you would consider good. Those might be companies with over 10 billion market value, 5 year growth rate greater than 10%, dividend greater than 3% and debt/equity less than 50% for example.

johnson and johnson, sbc global, procter and gamble, warner brothers,

wal mart, taco bell, mc donald's, 24 hour fitness, starbucks, and wal greens.

These are all long term value plays, so don't expect all of them to work overnight.
