How can I get the internet to work on my Virtual PC?

I have installed Windows 3.11 on Virtual PC 2007, and have installed all required programs to make the internet work. The only problem is that I cant get the IP address, default gateway, and dns correct. How do I get these things?

I've installed Windows 3.11 onto Virtual PC 2007 and have installed all the necessary items onto it in order for it to run; tcp/ip stacker, network adapter etc... All I need to know is how to aquire the proper DNS, Gateway, and IP address to make it connect. And on a minor note, those who keep saying "NIC", I don't know what that means.

i wasnt born by the time so i cant help you , use vmware its much better i dont remember if you could share your host connection through virtual pc but in vmware its pretty simple !

Wow. Windows 3.11. I don't remember exactly how to setup the networking on Windows 3.11, but to get started, make sure you have a virtual network card created/installed on windows 3.11. Then check either the network/winsock settings. Finally make sure that the NIC on the virtual PC is bridged with the physical NIC you have running the virtual PC 2007.

I am not sure about what you do you mean by "all the required programs to make the internet work"...

Note that windows 3.11 does not have TCP/IP support built in. You must get it installed after windows. DHCP client may or may not be included with the TCP/IP stack. If not, keep in mind that the standard configuration of Virtual PC is to bridge the virtual NIC with your real NIC, and use DHCP, but you can set these by hand

If you have more than one NIC on the host machine it can also make things trickier...
