I can't get files off of my Virtual PC?

I have a Windows Server 2003 and installed Microsoft Virtual PC to try to run some apps that don't like Server 2003 as well as they like Windows XP. Unfortunately the Virtual PC addons which allow the shared folder feature needed to move files to and from the Virtual machine will not run on Server 2003. I've got internet and such so any ideas on the best way to share files back and forth are appreciated. I was thinking maybe setting up an FTP server on the Server 2003 and using FTP to the IP address from within the Virtual PC to upload and download files via FTP?

Getting stuff onto the Virtual machine is easy enough because I can always create a MagicISO image and mount it as a CD and grab it from D: from within but getting anything back out is a problem unless I want to email it to myself (seems an awful waste of bandwidth).

I need a "writable ISO" or some other solution so I dont have to mail my files to myself. It's just stupid (stupid MSFT).

Use WinImage. You can mount your VHD (virtual hard drive) and then copy things off.

It's not free, but there's a trial, so I guess you can just use the trial software to get the data out.

I'm not sure, but perhaps even the latest WinRAR allows you to do that. But you have to read their feature list to make sure.

The simplest thing to do is create a shared folder either on the server or the the virtual machine, then have the system without the shared folder connect to the shared folder on the other system to copy the files. Make sure the share has read/write permissions.
