Linux Won't INSTALL? |
Ok, so i have tried over and over again trying to install linux on my pc, but it always stops in the boot process, i have gone through all the Linux distributions and none of them would work out, it always says something about the kernel, i am settling with fedora core right now,(I mean i wont try to install anything else) The hdd is very new, barely bought it two days ago, so i doubt that is the problem Explained: "kernel panic - not syncing - attempted to kill init ...just from your output, the virtual address sounds like HDD error having bad sectors (an error appears at data source or destination) I have installed Linux on probably a dozen machines. There was one machine that I could not install it on. I don't recall the problem / error messages / whatever. I threw 2 or 3 different distros at it and ran out of time. Did you repartition your hard drive or something because whenever I have used linux I have never go an error like that unless Grub couldn't find the kernel I was looking for. Usually Linux distros like FC or Ubuntu are so easy to install a windows user could do it. Check to make sure the partition types are correct. |
