[java] transfer over serial port?

I have this headset with integrated MP3 player. You can only transfer the files over bluetooth. But the software on the disk is for windows only and I'm a linux/mac user.

I have some experience with java and would like to devellop a program to transfer my music to that headset. The headset connects to the pc via a virtual serial port - I guess I can make that work on linux/mac - but how do I address a serial port in a java program?

I know there's an obex implementation in the java api, you think there's a lot of chance the headset uses obex?

Any chance this thing'll be OS independant?

You can try using the Java Comm extension package (javax.comm), but I'm not sure how much success you will have with something that doesn't actually connect to an RS232 port.

It will set you back about $50. This actually looks so promising, I might download the evaluation copy and try it out this weekend!
