This all began September 2006, when Black students challenged the school official about being able to sit under the WHITE TREE in the school yard! The official reportedly told the kids to feel free to sit wherever they wanted. The day after the black kids sat under the tree, three hangman鈥檚 nooses were found hanging from the tree.
The three white students responsible for hanging nooses in a tree in the school courtyard were punished with a few days of in-school suspension. The noose incident was dismissed as a childish prank. The following day, black students staged a spontaneous protest rally under the tree where the nooses had been discovered. Several black male athletes took the lead in this protest.鈥?the same students who were eventually accused of attacking Justin Barker.
Shortly after that incident, District Attorney Reed Walters addressed an emergency school assembly called in response to the spontaneous student protest. With a dozen fully uniformed (and I鈥檓 assuming, armed) police officers in the auditorium, Walters warned protest organizers that with a stroke of his pen he could take their lives away. Walters has admitted under oath that he made this remark. His words were not aimed at the entire student body, nor at black students in general, he was speaking to the student athletes we now call the Jena 6. After the demonstration under the tree, Robert Bailey, Carwin Jones, Mychal Bell, Theodore Shaw, Jesse Beard and Bryant Ray Purvis became notorious.
In signed statements, several white and black students mentioned a series of verbal altercations during the lunch hour preceding the attack on Justin Barker. The trash-talking was directly related to a fight at the Fair Barn three days earlier. On that occasion, Robert Bailey and a few of his friends were invited to an all-white student party by some of their white friends. When Robert entered the building, he was punched in the face by a 22 year-old white male. In seconds, Robert was assaulted with beer bottles, punches and kicks in a virtual mirror image of the altercation at the high school three days later. The only differences were that the identity of the instigator in the Fair Barn incident was undisputed and that Robert remained conscious after the initial blow and was thus able to minimize the impact of the attack.
The following morning, Robert Bailey and two of the friends who had come to his aid during the Fair Barn assault were leaving a local convenience store when they encountered one of the country white males who had jumped Robert the night before. Fearing retaliation, the boy retreated to his truck and pulled out a pump-action, pistol-grip shotgun that looks like something the Terminator might have fancied. When Robert and his friends wrestled the weapon away from their would-be assailant they were charged with assault and theft. Once again, Jena鈥檚 New Jim Crow regime was reinforced.
The violent assault at the Fair Barn, the convenience store incident, and the assault at the school followed in the wake of a traumatic school fire in late November. Everyone associated with the school was in a state of shock akin to post traumatic stress syndrome. Concerned by the wave of violence, several teachers asked administrators not to reopen the school the Monday morning of the assault.
Student statements suggest that the student who attacked Justin Barker was responding to taunts that Robert Bailey 鈥渉ad his butt kicked鈥?at the Fair Barn. In the course of this verbal jousting, several students report that Justin Barker 鈥済ot up in Mychal鈥檚 face鈥?and gave Mychal the finger. Tony Knapp, one of three boys who admitted to hanging nooses earlier in the school year, was also involved in this lunch hour altercation. At trial, District Attorney Reed Walters created the misleading impression that Barker was attacked by black thugs looking for a random white victim. He knew better鈥?br>
* Several eyewitnesses recall that the initial punch was preceded by the shouted words, 鈥淭his will teach you to run your mother f***ing mouth.鈥?This statement, repeated by too many witnesses to be seriously doubted, makes no sense apart from the trash talking described in student statements.
Justin Cooper was the only witness at trial to testify that Mychal Bell kicked Justin Barker as the victim lay unconscious on the ground. Since Justin Cooper was one of the boys who admitted to hanging the nooses at Jena High School, is he a reliable witness?
Jessica Hooter was one of four trial witnesses who identified Mychal as the person who threw the first punch at Justin Barker. Two days after the assault occurred, Jessica was unable to identify the initial attacker. But as she explained at trial, 鈥淎fter I thought about it more, I remembered more.鈥?br>

my answer is to take all the white racists, all the black racists, and al sharpton put them in jena and level the thing so we can get rid of all of this garbage floating around This whole incident has gotten out of control. There were mistakes made all around, without question. But does that really negate the fact that 6 people violently attacked a single individual? How can that be defended, no matter the circumstances? And if the situation were reversed and it had been a black kid jumped by 6 white kids, would Al Sharpton and his legion be marching in their defense? I doubt it! He's as racist as the people he speaks out against.
And by the way.....The jury was all white because only 50 people responded to the more than 500 summonses sent out and they all happened to be white. Should the trial have been delayed until they found more black jurors? My answer: 95% of the people in that town are racist and it sickens me. The whites and blacks should all be ashamed of themselves! First off, I used to live in Louisiana and the racism in that state runs both ways -- virulently. The nooses should not have been hung, but Justin Barker should not have been attacked either. And to say the kids who attacked Justin Barker are somehow victims is risible. They committed assault, and their actions could have resulted in Justin's death; thankfully, it did not. But for outsiders to go to Jena and make the "Jena 6" believe that what they did was justified sets a dangerous precedence. The reaction by the so-called civil rights activists is nothing short of racist -- where were they when the Duke players were being falsely accused? If six white kids had done this to a black kid, the same people defending the "Jena 6" would be decrying it as a hate crime. These kids need to know that there are consequences for their actions.

Fact is, Justin Barker, went to the hospital with some very serious injuries. Did he deserve it ? "Not only is there almost no media coverage of the Black violent hate crimes against Whites, but in high profile cases when Blacks are prosecuted for heinous crimes against innocent Whites, the White victims are ignored and the Black criminals are turned into 鈥渞eal victims鈥?by the media.
Nothing more clearly illustrates this point than what has occurred over the past year in Jena, Louisiana and the orgy of hatred that Jena has suffered. today, September 20, the town has been invaded by thousands of thugs like Al Sharpton who seek to make violent Black hate criminals such as Michael Bell and the rest of the so-called 鈥淛ena Six鈥?into heroes. Even worse the entire White population of the town is facing a media lynching by being labeled racists who are unjustly persecuting Black young men.
Michael Bell, who has been convicted of four previous violent crimes, (a fact scarcely revealed by the media), led a group of six Black students to attack and unmercifully beat a White Student at Jena High School in what can only be described as a vicious hate crime. Motivated by racial hatred, the six Blacks attacked one lone White student, Justin Barker. They stomped and kicked him to unconsciousness and continued to kick him and stomp him as he lay helpless. The attack could have easily have taken his life if others had not intervened. Only by the grace of God did he survive.
To show the insane bias of this whole case, just imagine if the facts were reversed.
If a gang of six Whites motivated by racial hatred and led by a White with four previous violent-crime convictions had attacked a lone Black student, kicking and stomping him into unconsciousness, would there any concern that the leader and the other White gang members could be charged with aggravated assault? Would not there be national demands to charge the White attackers with the most serious of federal civil rights violations and hate crimes? White leaders from all over the country, even the leaders of the local town of Jena, would not be defending the White attackers, they would be condemning the attacks and calling for the harshest of punishments allowed by the law.
As far as the Media are concerned, oh yes the supposedly unbiased media, they would be interviewing the Black victim on every TV talk show across the land, discussing his fear, his pain, his suffering. They would be interviewing his crying relatives and friends. They would not be voicing any fear that the White attackers would be treated too harshly. No, they would be demanding the harshest of penalties.
Federal officials from the President on down would be calling for additional serious charges of federal civil rights violations. But you see, in the America of 2007 Whites are no longer deemed to have any 鈥渃ivil rights.鈥?br>
When a lone White kid is beaten savagely by a gang of six hate criminals, the media is only concerned about how the Black attackers are being treated too harshly. And if you are waiting for civil rights charges to be filed against the Black attackers who violated the civil rights of the boy they almost beat to death, don鈥檛 hold your breath.
The entire Jena scenario and the coverage of it by the media show once again that it is not the people of Jena who are racists. By voting for me and by demanding justice in this case, they have shown rightly that they believe in fairness to all and that White people are now the real victims of racism in America. Once again it is shown that we must have advocates for our rights and heritage just as any other group is permitted to do so.
May the District Attorney and the people of Jena stay strong and never give in to those who seek take away their rights of life and liberty as guaranteed by the United States Constitution." The incident in Jena gives the racist roadshow of Sharpton/Jackson another venue in which to stage its demonstrations of bigotry and hate. You would not have the same kind of demonstration if the six assailants had been white. If that had been the case, and if all other facts in the matter were the same, Sharpton and Jackson would be campaigning not for their release but for life imprisonment.
