I Cannot Ping a client from server and vice versa? |
I have been configuring a small network by using virtual PC 2007. I have divided the network into two subnets by using RRAS and I'm able to ping one subnet, but not the other one. The IP address on Both of them are Assigned by DHCP server. 1 - the problem is not with RRAS i guess. because it can send and receive packets from the subnet beyond the routing server. Your router settings are incorrect for the subnets! You have to use the correct subnet mask if you wish routers to communicate between separated networks. It sounds like you don't have routing turned on. - Updated , Then you default gateways are not right, I would draw it out on paper and make sure all the gatways a right.. You have a problem with routing.... unless whatever you are pinging is configured to not respond to pings. |
