My 7 month old kitten seems to have an eye that is starting to get hazy. Is she going blind?

She has been healthy up until this point. Does a hazy eye mean blindness or an infection??? I want to help her and was wondering if anyone had any help before I take her to a vet. **The vet offices are closed at the moment, so Im looking for temporary solution, or at least a slight insight to what is happening to my little kitty**

it sounds like a scratched cornea.Was your kitten with another cat?This will cause the eye to turn a milky Gray.Antibiotics will take care of this.This will be fine till morning.

No but you should check with your vet to see if its a corneal eroison or a corneal abrasion.

definately check with your vet; it could be a scratch, ulcer, infection or blindness. just ask your vet to inspect it, and make sure that your kittens don't get into cleaners or bleches, cuz thats REALLY bad for their eyes. maybe you might put a drop of water in the kittens eye until the vet opens, or just call a different vet for advice.

It can mean blindness, a cataract or a injury to the eye. The only way to really find out is taking the cat to the vet. Good luck.

Hmm- Well, usually when haziness appears in the eyes like you describe, it does mean some kind of infection or even glaucoma.

I don't think she has anything actually scratching her eye: That would lead to the eye watering.

You will want to schedule an appointment ASAP. I seem to remember hearing of operations that can treat glaucoma and so save your kitty's sight.
