How will it affect me if some temporary filling left in my root canal under the crown?

I got the root canal therapy in December in USA and then got the permanent filling for the teeth and crown in another country. Before getting the permanent filling and the crown, I too the X-ray picture there and the doctor told me that the filling in the canal is permanent since the fillings are shown on the X-ray picture; if it is temporary filling, it should not be seen on the X-ray photo. So the doctor there did not change anything in the root canal and just fill my teeth with permanent material and crowned it. After I getting back to USA, my dentist's office told me that the filling in the canal is also temporary. Now, my question is, can I just leave those temporary filling there in my teeth under crown? How will it hurt me if there is any? I really do not want to see any dentist further about it; it is way too expensive for me. Please help with any information that you might have. Thank you so much

Hi there!

Nowadays every root canal filling material is visible on X-rays, that's OK, and i assume your dentist used a permanent filling because its the right way to go (i cant imagine anything else he'd use), after filling your root canal, on top of that endodontist often use a temporary material, so your regular dentist performs the final restoration (fillings, veneers, crowns, etc). The next step is placing a permanent filling (or restoration), for example a resin composite (color like filling).

I think you got confused in the way, and most sure is everything alright, otherwise your regular dentist would advise you.

I hope i helped you,

Bye
