Do you think the statement made by David Shuster of MSNBC is deserving of Hillary's wrath, or is it the first salvo of limitation of Freedom of Speech by Clinton Part Deux??
The campaign also released the text of a letter from Clinton to Steve Capus, president of NBC News. The full text of that letter below.
Dear Mr. Capus,
Thank you for your call yesterday. I wanted to send you this note to convey the depth of my feeling about David Shuster's comments.
I know that I am a public figure and that my daughter is playing a public role in my campaign. I am accustomed to criticism, certainly from MSNBC. I know that it goes with the territory.
However, I became Chelsea's mother long before I ran for any office and I will always be a mom first and a public official second.
Nothing justifies the kind of debasing language that David Shuster used and no temporary suspension or half hearted apology is sufficient.
I would urge you to look at the pattern of behavior on your network that seems to repeatedly lead to this sort of degrading language.
There's a lot at stake for our country in this election. Surely, you can do your jobs as journalists and commentators and still keep the discourse civil and appropriate.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton The Clintons have done much worse to anyone that speaks against them or gets in their way. Juanita Broderick, Paula Jones, etc., etc.
The Clintons have strong armed anyone that says anything they don't like for years. You question her attitude toward free speach just look at her history against the Constitution, our laws, Democracy, capitalism, our troops and America. I don't question any time she puts herself first. No this isn't the first time she's done something against the first amendment or the constitution and it won't be her last. Yes it is. The pimp has always been a megalomanic! She is absolutely right. David Shuster should have been fired for saying that. Imus was fired for less. It was a high level advisor of then President Clinton who was quoted saying, "the Constitution is an out dated scrap of paper and needs to be done away with". What do you think (yes)? I could be wrong but doesn't Hillary have the freedom of speech to express her displeasure at his remarks? She is spinning the event for political gain. She wants all the mothers to rush to her support. Nothing that comes out of her mouth is sincere. You may not like this, but from a parent's point of view she is being quite liberal. If someone said about mine what was said about her's, I'd be livid.
Especially when Schuster is connected to mika who is the daughter of the main Obama advisor.

My letter would have been much much worse if someone had used those terms toward my daughter publically. Did anybody say George Bush was pimping out his daughters and wife when they helped him on his campaign? Did anybody say Romney was pimping out his sons when they helped on his campaign? The hatred of Hillary Clinton borders on mental illness. If anybody doesn't see the sickness in the comment this man made, then I feel sorry for them. That shows a complete lack of values in my opinion. We are free to say whatever we want and also should be big enough to accept the consequences that may accompany that right.. |
