Temporary employment Agencies - (Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering)? |
I wish to get a public response on temporary agencies for office employment....what people think of them, the experiences that they have with them. Whether they are good or bad. I got the job that I have right now (electronics technician) through a temp agency. They would not have hired me otherwise, and many places hire temps and temps only these days. What they do is evaluate you for 90 days, then if they like you, they offer to hire you directly from the temp agency. It beats them having to find people on their own and the agency gets a cut out of your check (a small one, but one still) so it keeps them thriving. i live in scarborough and some mates of mine used them. they are very sporadic in when you will work but they did get them jobs. one mate of mine got a great full time job out of it. he had to work through the agency for 3 months at the job before the company took him on as an employee. I tried thinking of a positive experience, but unfortunately I've only dealt with (as in actually worked for) Absolute Recruitment lately. The last two assignments I was given were Data Entry positions. The second last one that I went to for 2 or so months had people there for the exact assignment but from Quantum. I was being paid $10 an hour while the people (who I had to help train due to them being newer) were being paid 12.50 an hour, and this pay was for an afternoon shift at that. The latest assignment that I had just ended today, it was to be a 1 month contract, still not that great pay at $11 an hour, and I also went without even a 24 hour notice as they were scrambling to find someone 'last minute for a very important data entry project.' Well, after 3 days of crap random work such as filing and putting together binders, I finally did 2 whole days of data entry, and then today Absolute tells me that my project is over- this after only 6 days ( and TWO days of data entry, as I just stated ), and it really sucks as I had to put off a job from AltisHR thinking it was going to actually last a month as was in the contract. |

I can tell you that it will cost you a lot of money to rent a space. Start you own business working from home. I did it and you can do it too. Among other things it must be for the convenience of your employer and the area must be used exclusively for business purpos... I would ask the temp agency what is appropo..... Better to dress up then to be under-dressed....you might NOT get asked back...or as the temp agency gets feedback from the company, they may judge ... it all depends on what type of work that you are use to doing. If you are going to work at a factory, you can make 7-10 dollars an hour. If you are a clerical person, then you can make from 9 dol... It varies wildly. It really depends, sometimes even regardless of your qualifications. I've worked a couple of temp positions where I answered a few calls and stared at the ceiling most of t... I see many patients use denture adhesive temporarily untill they get to the office. It seems to do the trick most of the time. ...Boris Johnson - oops, wrong party, but you know what I mean!! ...Oh my! If he thinks he has pain with that temp filling in, it will be much, much worse if he exposes that root to the air. Ora-gel or nothing else will help enough, and he will be exposing himsel... |
