Removing temporary files in a "Disk Clean Up"?

When removing temporary files etc in a "Disk Clean Up" ...... in the part headed "Office set up Files" is it okay to delete them. They are not an actual part of the Windows Operating System, are they?.

when cleaning temp files on your pc, if it comes to a file that is part of the operating system it will not let you delete it

It is OK to delete them. However, during the next Office patch (update) you may be asked to insert your office CD.

The office files also make office repair more feasible. At most it is a few 100 MB.

They are there, so that you may modify, the Office configuration. Such as adding features, or removing features.
Check the documentation, for Windows Office, and see if you can remove them safely.

Yes, it is OK to delete them. They are not essential but really don't take up that much space, I just left them on my disk.
Their pupose is if you add options or attempt to use a tool in one of the office applications that was not installed with the original install, these setup files speed up the process. .
