Moving in 6 months and looking for a temporary job using my college degree. What are my chances/options?

I have a degree in economics and would like to get some experience in finance/banking, but I don't know if anyone would hire me for that kind of position for 6 months.
I'm guessing I could be an admin asst. or bank teller and at least be in a financial/business atmosphere.
Would offices or banks hire for 6 months?
If not, it's off to Target or Wally world for a half year.
Better than putting down I did nothing for 6 months on my resume, right?

Do you really have to mention that you are moving in 6 months? That's a long time and anything can happen like you might actually find a way to stay and not move to wherever it is you are going to. Find a job as a teller, you are easily replaced as a teller so you are not leaving them in a bind when you do leave.

contact a temp agency, they will put you in a better job than wally world or target. you usually go in and take some basic skills tests and give them a resume if you have one. you could land a short term awesome job filling in for someone on maturnity leave, vacation, or sick leave. Other times positions may just be temporary due to a large contract with a company or an additional short term client that demands more employees.

You do not have to tell the company that you are wanting a temp position unless you want to. Then, you also have the option of applying for only a temp position as many companies hire for only the summer, etc.

Best bet may be teller in bank or credit union. It's not necessary to tell them you will be there for 6 months. And a lot of things can happen in 6 months - you could be promoted and decide to stay.

A temp agency may be your best bet for a short term position or positions. Hopefully the temp agency will have a client that needs someone with your background. What you haven't mentioned is whether you have any experience in banking/finance. A degree in economics might not be enough unless you're a quick learner and the employer recognizes the value of your degree. You could market your admin skills and see what's out there. You also mentioned Target ... consider fast food places and video rentals. Your options are limited but they are out there.

You can find a great job that you can do at any time in the comfort of your own home and have the opportunity to earn up to $1000 in ONE Day. Simply click on the link below and follow the step-by-step instructions.
