What are my rights as a temporary employee? |
I was told on July 28 that my assignment was ending...no reason was given. The next business day I applied for unemployment and received one check. Now the state unemployment office is questioning that because my supervisor from my last assignment said I was terminated for "excessive talking." I should add that while working for the temporary agency, none of my supervisors, except this one, complained about my work. Were you hired through a temp agency? ZERO none, nothing, nowt, you are only placed with the assignment for as long as they want you, whether it be one day or one week. Go back to your agency and ask for another assignement. You have the right to appeal your claim. When you file the appeal, tell them what happened to you, bring any kind of paperwork or anything you can use & you will probably have a appeal hearing with a judge. Just go in and tell the truth! Them the judge will give you a decision in a letter a few days later. If you were hired as a temp, and they have it in writing, you have no recourse. You could only fight the unemployment as a permanent, full-time employee if there was no documentation regarding your termination. Sorry, but I don't think you have any recourse. after 90 days u have some say before that nothing also as a part time no rights as full time all benifits will apply You have no rights. First you were a temporary employee, and Second, it's never "Your" job. All jobs belong to the employer, it's his company, and he pays the bills, including your salary... up to the point where he fires you for excessive talking. AND, he doesn't need to provide you with an explanation. |
