Front tooth Dental Implant?

Hello. I had an apiectomy performed on a large fron tooth last December. To make a long story short, the specialist declared the procedure a failure. The tooth is mobile and has pain from time to time.
He says I am a candidate for an implant. Cost $2400!
If I have this done, will the implant work? At the time of extraction, will I leave the office with some type of temporary tooth? Please help. Thanks. I have asked the dentist for a discount in light of the failed apio. I am waiting for his response. Thanks.

Hopefully the fee for the failed apico will be deducted from the implant fee.

Keep in mind that an implant procedure can take 6 months to complete. You'll have a healing cap placed over the implant and it will be sticking out of your gums. A temporary crown cannot be placed on this... this is to make sure your body doens't reject the implant. You'll probably have something called a Flipper made by your general dentist prior to your implant visit to fill the gap until the implant 'takes'.

Then it's back to the general dentist for an impression for the crown that will replace the healing cap. You'll have additonal charges for the 'screw' that goes into the implant, as well as the crown fee...probably another $1000 or so.

2400 $ cost? That is a LOT cheaper then it could be... The implant is for sure to work, it pretty much just snaps in, the implant part itself, is put into your bone, so that will stay for sure. Yes you will leave with a temporary tooth for four months, to let it heal and settle...

O the specialist gave you a good option cus implants are long lasting treatment and of course it would look very good too cosmetic wise. As far as what you'll have when you leave the office that day is probably a temporarily retainer with fake tooth attached to the retainer where the missing spot is until the tissue heal and then in about 4 or 6 weeks latter they'll ask you to return and they could possibly make you a temp crown using the implant they placed on your first visit. If am not mistaking they'll have you wait for about 6 month for the tissue and bone to completely heel before they start working on your final crown. Hay its gonna be lots waiting time before you actually get ur permanent work but its completely worth of waiting. As far as the price i'm not exactly sure how much other office charge but i heard its fairly expensive but again its not gonna be any kind of investment that you'll regret letter. Its a wonderful long lasting treatment ever these days. Hay hope everything goes well and i would say get it over with as fast as you can and enjoy ur smile. Hope this helps
