How can you write a resume if you really don't have much to put on one?

I think putting together a resume has been the hardest thing I have done in my 25 years. I do have work history, but most of my jobs I did not keep for more then a few months. Two of the offices I worked for have closed, and I have no clue how to get in contact with them, and there is one that I would rather not have a future employer talk to. I know legaly they cannot say anything bad against you, but still if my job prospects hear some of the things they have to say, they may think twice about me. Plus other then two temporary jobs I worked last year, I haven't worked in about 4 years. On top of that, I did not graduate high school, and obviously have not gone to college.

Pretty much every pre made template I see ask for the things that I would rather not put onto a resume. So would making something up on my own look ok? Do employers really want the pre made templates?

Getting my GED is on my list of things to do. Fortunatly the jobs I am applying for do not require a GED or diploma, but I know mentioning I do not have either sounds bad.

Well, right after college, i didn't have much to put on my resume. So i put EVERYTHING i could think of.
nutrition lab intern, babysitting, church activities, dogsitting, any activities with any associations...... tutoring.....
i got hired at first interview i went to.
he liked my resume because i put everything although they weren;'t that good of a resume type experiences. just be honest and give them the reasons for quiting at the interview.
good luck

i know it's hard doing a resume,my mom just stop doing mine!! first start with an Objective (try saying things like
Seeking a challenging career with a progressive organization which will utilize my skills, abilities and education in (whatever you are applying for!)) Then go with work experience next put down your jobs even if they are no longer and when asked about them say they went out of business or whatever happen! that is good because if you had bad reference they wont find out because they aren't there anymore! give a brief overview what you did at each job and spice it up without lying! then do skill
but it really easy when you get in the swing of things! try websites like www.valut.com,www.monster.com,www.career...
go back to get a GED or a home school program!!!
GOOD LUCK
