Im a single mom and could use a little financial help. i live in indiana.?

my daughters dad moved out in february and is on ssi(not ssd where he worked and then got disabled) so i went to the court house to try and get child support but they denied me saying they cant make him pay cause hes on ssi. social security office told me the same thing. i went and applied for TANF(temporary assistance for needy families) which is supposedly for families where a parent is missing or mentally ill (her father is both) they told me no i make way way to much and that i wasted my time applying(i work at walmart making about $220 a week. is there any thing out there to help me financially or a way to gett him to pay? please help...thank you

Hi have you tried the churchs? they are very helpful when you are in a bind and need some help. I used to live in Indianapolis and some things happend there , and i needed assistance I even got help paying the mortgage on our house when living there.. I no longer reside there anymore.. by the way LOWES warehouse pays good money. I have not lived there for 3 years.. not sure what part of indy your in but, if you know where rockville road is and the recreational center near highschool road I think ?? it has been awhile there is assistance place there. it might be where you have been already they also have different pantrys you can go to to get foods and such. I would call some churchs because they have a fund that can help you out when in need. wish I still had numbers.. i used to go to St agustines . I hope this helps a little.. :)

There is WIC which you may qualify for. That is strange about the child support, because my mom was on SSI and they still made her pay child support. Believe me it wasn't much and the state took most of it.

easy; get a better job. Factory work tends to pay more money.

I would say try to find a better job. Do you work part time? $220 a week doesn't seem like much. And the WIC program is awesome but thats just for food needs. They don't give you money.

I thought that if a parent was on disability or SSi the children autommatically got a set amout also...check it out with the Social Security office..
