PLeaSE EVERYone READ this.. I WAS FIRED UNFAIRLY...... ASAP.... PLEASE?

I wrote 2 letters on resignation for both my supervisor and HR giving a two weeks notice. I walk in to my supervisors office handed him the letter and then next to HR . five minutes later my supervior called me into th HR office and asked me to pack my things. I did not know why.

But turns out that i handed my supervisor a letter that i had wrote my ex-boyfriend.

He told my to leave immidiately, and to not return.

On the bottom of the letter it says your ex girl friend. but it was not addressed to anyone

Can i get fired on the spot for that. I have worked with this company for 11 months and 3 of those months i was a temp thru a temporary agency.

It was just a misunderstandin and now i will be out of two weeks pay. is there anything i can do to get those two weeks paid out to me.

California is an "at will" state, which means you can get fired for any reason.

More than likely, they fired you for giving the 2 weeks notice. That happened to me.

Just use it as a vacation, or get 2 weeks work from your agency.

yes, you could get fired for that! Your supervisor has to be very careful and he had to take an immediate decision other wise he could get in trouble. Sorry to hear that, but you are suppose to pay attention what papers are you giving to who.

Unfortunately yes, they can fire you for that reason.
1st, it is your carefulness for the wrong letter, disregarding the contents of the letter.
2nd, your supervisor is trying to do most people would do on this situation, save himself/herself first.
3rd, they give you 2 weeks notice which is nice so you can use that period of time go for a vacation or find something else.
4th and the last, try to get over it and move on~

Two weeks notice. Well, at least they gave you two weeks. Obviously they wanted to fire you and you wanted to go. So what's the problem. You sound young you will find another job. Was your boss your boyfriend? Maybe the HR person thought he was and he might have had a problem explaining it to her that he was not.
