How do you answer your telephone? What greeting do you use?

I look at my caller ID, then answer differently, depending on who is calling. If I don't know who it is, I just say a businesslike "hello".

My Dad used to say"M______'s Mortuary, which body do you want?" Some people hung up!

I don't answer my phone... I let my girlfriend do it.

Sometimes I use, "Joe's bar and grill, Joe aint here, this is Finigan speaking, how ken I hep you?"

Other times, I say, "It's your dime, but my time, make it snappy!"

Yet again I may say, "It's me, how can I help you?"

Finally, I'll say "Yeah?" or "Hello?" or "There's someone at the door!"

It depends on who the person is. Sometimes I say Hello, How are you doing. And at other times I just answer the phone yea or uhn-huh.

Wow, people asking WHAT? That's what amazes me.

However, most of my friends who have children have a greeting of "X residence" or "X residence, X speaking"...so that greeting is still out there.

If business, I answer with my name. 'So and so speaking' or 'this is so and so.'

answer after the third ring to avoid he telemarketers then answer with a hello. if you do happen to get a telemarketer, hang up

Hey You or hello or what do you want, it depends who's calling. Caller ID is great!

Usually just "hello." At work, I answer with the business name, or if teh call is transferred to me, "Smith here." Caller ID , of course, has allowed me to know who is calling, and if it is a close friend or relative, I can make some silly (or rude) comment!

If I know who it is, I say "Yello". If I don't know who it is, I say "Hellooo?".

I do not have a telephone...

Well, I just say "hello", but my oldest sister used to have a funny way of answering the phone when we were kids. She's answer "Pentagon!" Anyone who knew us was used to it. But once, someone replied "Oh, sorry! I must have dialed the wrong number!" Yeah, like the number for the Pentagon is in Peoria!!!, Right! Anyway, then the phone rang again, and in a timid little voice, she said "Hello?"
