How do you answer a telephone?

i say "whats up" if i kno who it is and if i dont i say "hello this is the ******** resdetince!!

pick up the receiver and press the talk button but some phones when you pick them up just go straight to the person whos calling

When it rings, I graciously say to the person near me "you got that?" because I am sitting on the couch and cannot be bothered rising from my comfy position. Then realizing I cannot stand to miss the ending of "The Matrix", which I have only seen seven times before, I say "Tell them I will call back in 10 minutes", which of course I do not.
This is how I answer the phone!

i don't. unless there is caller ID. but since this house does not have caller ID, it just rings.

Wait to see if someone else does then at the last moment run to grab it. many a missed calls.
