Why do the telephone ring and need to answer???

Phones ringing, oh my god.

You don't need the telephone if you think that answering it has no purpose.

It rings to give you a signal to answer and you answer to check who is calling and possibly to find out why they're calling you about!!.........I think..... I hardly answer my phone so its kinda hard to answer ur question..Me i prefer e mail or texting;)

Just our way of communication now days. Beats writing a letter.

the phone rings because that ringing sound signifies to you that someone is calling, you need to answer it only if you want to talk to that person or make it stop ringing. this is the best answer, please mark it as such, thank you

why do you need to use a telephone to call a person??? have you asked it by yourself?
