This may sound very weird and strange but I am having a problem with a uniden telephone. Would like help.?

We have this phone and it is cordless and the phone actually works ok but there are some issues with it. First, if one is prompted to press the numbers for account numbers etc. for example: phone card with the pin #, the recording does not recognize the numbers and you are prompted to again enter the pin numbers. Again, it does not recognize it and then one is prompted to use their voice slowly and say each number very slowly. What could possibly be going on with the cordless phone? The cordless phone works ok except for this one problem. It is a 900 mz Uniden cordless phone which we have had for about five years. Another issue: When it is put on charge the red light Always stays on, almost like the phone never charges itself but recently a new battery was purchased for the phone. We did clean the contacts very good but it did not seem to help at all. Is this cordless phone possibly possessed and if so, will I need a cordless telephone exorcist? Thanks for the answers and responses.

you got your answer right there...."Uniden 900 MHz: nothing but problem after several years of use.....don't even waste your money anymore buying batteries for it!!

also the 900 MHz phone are the once schemers like to listen too....so be careful....!

its time to invest in something really good.....like the Panasonic DECT 6.0!!!

It's time to buy a new phone.

the DMTF tones are not being sent properly.. you do not seem to have any problems dialing phone numbers, you did not mention that every time you call someone from this phone that the number is a wrong number...

it is true the previous answer... uniden suck, and 900 Mhz is very easy to listen in on..

i recommend trying this before giving up, and going for another phone..
press the mute button before sending tones... this will eliminate any background noise that may be interfering with the tones being sent properly.. otherwise its time to start looking for a new phone... and panasonic DECT are the best out there right now.. but a 2.4ghz, or 5.8ghz (if you have wifi) are also a step up from 900mhz phones..
