Weird telephone number has been ringing me constantly today!?

telephone number +23480... has been ringing me several times today, i havn't been answering as i don't recognise the number as uk numbers start wiv +44, am i right in thinking this is a dodgy number?

+234 = Nigeria

I don't pick up the phone for any number I don't know, or caller ID doesn't recognize. They can leave a message if it's important!

You should answer the phone and if it's a real person tell them to stop calling me or I will report you to the authorities for harassment.

i think you are on the right track there - if you answer you will find that you will be charged vast amounts of money for the call - just ignore it

It sounds abit dodgy, i get someone phoning me at 5.00 in the morning, they are starting to get on my nerves, i had this problem three month ago on a different number i was using but, he was sending me video calls of him playing with himself, i reported it to the network they gave me a new number and the naext morning he was back again, in the end i reported it to the police and they said it sounded to them that the person whos doing this must be from the network, so i changed my number and now its starting again.

(ANS) This may well be a sales call (as in cold calling) or possibly a market research call asking you to take part in a telephone survey. The weird number is probably from a call center off shore meaning well outside the UK, it could literally be anywhere from Japan, India or Russia,etc.

**If it is just a sales or marketing call, if you put on your answering machine they will soon give up trying to contact you. Market Researchers wont leave a message on any answering machine generally speaking.

**Unless you have some kind of debit thats been passed onto a debit recovery agency??

It's a Nigerian dialing code,so it's probably a scam of some sort,unless of course you know someone there who can't get through properly.

its a nigerian number report it to you rnetwork provider three times then you and request a number change or some thing else
