Telephone reconnection!! BT!!! (Boooo!!)?

Right, I've tried British Telecom twice now and after waiting 10-15 minutes (both times) to get through to get some advise, I was cut off..... so I thought I'd try on Yahoo answers instead!!


Quick history of problem -

Cut the wire that goes from the telegraph pole to the house a few years ago since we didn't want a phone line or internet access.

The wire is still long enough to reach the house, however, the new Mrs wants internet access.

So now need to have the telephone line fed into the house (into the correct room) and to be reconnected.

Does anybody know how to do this, without me having to phone BT and get cut off again??

BT are a pain. I've been on hold for over 3 hours in total in the last week. One evening I was in a queue for 81 minutes 55 seconds and was then told the office was colsed and to call back another time! I have once spoken to someone for 30 seconds who then put me on hold while he went to speak to his manager and 20 minutes later I was cut off. Also complaining through their website doesn't work as you just get an automated reply telling you they're very busy. If they are that busy I suggest they need more staff. Very good luck, let me know if you find a way through their system!!

forget BT they are a shower of idiots & cowboys all in 1 company.
you are lucky they cut you off after10-15 mins i can be on the phone in a que for over an hour sometimes.


Try cable instead, they connect for free not like the 拢200 + Bt will charge you.

Go for all services with Virginmedia - speed of answer on calling customer services is improving and believe me they are really starting to pile on the training and incentives for the residential call takers to make sure the quality improves too. The number of systems used for billing has been drastically reduced over the last few months, and from where I'm sat (ntl:Telewest Business, on the ground floor as opposed to the first floor for residential), things are really improving.
Check out the 10MB broadband, soon to be upgraded to 20MB, and ps it matters not how far you live from the exchange, as with many other providers, BT included....
There's a host of special offers on at the moment, and it can only improve in the long term with Branson at the helm - I mean what has he not made a success of?

I',m afraid its BT's property so your gonna have to ring them
anyway if you did it yourself you still wont get connected as bt probably has that line shut.
