Mystery telephone callers???

some IDIOT keeps calling my phone and when i say "hello" no one answers!!! they keep calling!!! ARGH! what can i say to the 'other person' as a 'snappy comeback' or something??? help asap?!!?!

There are two good ways to handle this....

1. Only say "hello" once. If the person on the other end doesn't respond, don't say a thing, just hang up. The caller is trying to get a response from you...he wants to annoy you. If you start yelling or cursing, you are doing just what he wants. Don't stay on the line, don't say anything other than hello...

2. Next time the idiot calls, say hello again. If no answer, just don't disconnect. Lay your phone down while he's on the line and leave it there. He will be unable to disconnect the line as long as you don't disconnect him. He can hang up but will still be connected with you until you hang up.

Most important is don't talk or respond in any way. That only encourages these jerks.

Get a whistle. Blow it in their ear.

Say Hold on. Lay the phone down. Walk off.

Scream in their ear as loud as you can. I LOVE the whistle idea, though. That's even better!!!

OR you can be pretending to have sex and make all the loud moaning and groaning sounds. That might entice them to keep calling, though....

well if you have caller ID, then try *67 then the person's number. that should block your number ( make it PRIVATE) so then you could figure out who that mysery caller is.

If your service provider has this option use it. *67, it might cost 75c or 1.00$ to use but it records the number of the person calling. And then if you want to you can report them to the police and they can get the print out of the call and then go tell the person to stop calling you. Or have some other department go and tell the person to stop calling you ( just depends on where the caller lives.)

it is probably a machine, not a person, on a random dial. Cold callers use these a lot. just put the phone on the side so that it ties up their lines and replace it when you are ready. If you are sure there is a person there, blow a whistle down the line. ouch!
