I received a telephone call from a number that I cannot identify. The area code is '180' and the prefix is

the area code is '180' and the prefix is '028.' I know of no US prefixes that begin with a '0'. Is this a scam. I did not answer the phone.

The operator can check for you, but I am sure the call is off the main continent as she will tell you and can not put a trace on the call. I would definetly have the call blocked, or get your self a phone with a telezapper right in. Use it as a second phone or original phone. These phones stop a lot of calls. It seems they send a signal back to party calling the number is not in service.
I have not had any unwanted calls since I purchased one in Jan. I have had a couple of phones but the one I have now seems to be the best. They are both by "nexxtech" one has answering machine and other has Telezapper. They are both cordless, call display and whole bunch of other stuff.

most likely is.. dont answer the phone like that..

some people can tie into your phone line and run your bill up.. if in doubt call your phone company

It might have been an international call. Or someone may have been using one of those callerID spoofing cards.

well you never answer it so how can you ask if its a scam it may be a friend you has move on and try to get in tuch with you all you had to do was pick up the phone if it was some crack pot is just put the phone down and make a report about it

www.whitepages.com lists no such area code for us.

Probably some type of scam involving a collect or call forwarding scheme.
Unless you are reading it wrong and it should be 1-800-28?
