How can a telephone conversation be different from a face-to-face one ?

There are many positives...and may be negatives

--you don't have to bother about your appearance.
--you don't have the danger of being slapped.
-- you have the liberty to discontinue at the desired moment.
--you can't be denied in face.
--You can, lie without the other end noticing it on your face.
....I don't want to say that telephonic conversation is better, though it may be safer up to some extent...if you are going to propose someone.

You don't see the other person's facial expressions when you talk on the phone.

It is entirely different! You can't read non-verbal communication in a telephone call. Over 90 percent of communication is non-verbal.

Body language is the difference. Meanings are not just conveyed by the words or voice tone, but by facial, hand and eye expressions.

You may feel more comfortable talking by phone, at first. You can cover more subject matter, probably be more open about things, likes, dislikes, and to probe one another. You can use the phone to set up the face-to-face encounter. Then you can ease into the face-to-face conversation with some knowledge about one another, and it should make you both better prepared to share more. Good luck.

wen its face to face u can look into the persons eyes and see if hes tellin u the truth or lying.

On the phone the person can be lying to you and u might nt know.

tel. Conversation means you can't see each others face.. only your voice. Face to face conversation means you'll see evrything about whom you are talking to. You'll see his or her face.... just EVERYTHING.

because you can see what the other person is doing from his face to his toe so this is why face to face conversation is better

In my experience, telephone chats are much more intense, probably because of the fact that you are both focused on the conversation at hand, and due to the lack of facial cues.

u cant see the expressions, and u can say anyhting

you dont really know if the person means what they are saying over the phone unlike when u talk to him face to face....
