How do i trace a strange telephone number (19722333)recieved an odd sms on my mobile phone.?

I received a wierd and frightening message on my mobile phone.The number accompanying it was 19722333. When I replied via sms with a brief message I recieved an answer " the number is incorrect or incomplete...please try again" Who could it be from and who owns the number.

Call your cell operator, they should have all tracks.

Try whitepages.com and do a "reverse phone" search, if the number isn't listed, you could at least find out what city the area code belongs to.

Maybe you should contact your service provider and block the number from your phone. They may also have a better idea as to where such a number originates from.

Well, I don't know. Like here where I live we have 10 digits to our phone number like the area code then our phone number example 317-XXX-XXXX < like that. That number doesn't contain enough numbers I think to even be a phone number. Call your cell phone provider and see if there is anything they can do for you.
