How should I sound in a telephone job interview?

How much should I talk? Should I only answer questions or should I also go into more detail about things? Etc.

Try to sound intelligent and arrogant in a way, but not too annoying and self-centered. I'd go into detail as saying things bland and short is boring and shows stupidity in a way.

Your best bet is to be very polite and blunt .

Tyrone,

In person or over the phone, just answer the questions as tehy are asked. If the interviewer wants you to expand on your answer, he/she will ask. When you get your chance to speak freely, then you can say something abotu yourself that you want him/her to know.

Best of luck,
-- Liam

you will get a feel from the interviewer. just follow him/her.

You should sound energetic and upbeat. Give reasonably concise answers (less than a minute - if you are droning on for 10 minutes you're putting the interviewer to sleep.) Don't sound abrupt ("yes", "no", "I did A,B, and C") - just give a little detail and then wait for them to follow up.

If they want more detail, they'll ask you, trust me. :) Good luck!
