Which is grammatically correct: 'this is she' or 'this is her'?

.. when answering the telephone. i know you can just use "speaking." but i would like to know which one is correct (this is she or this is her). thanks!

This is SHE because if you finished the sentence, it would be "this is she who is speaking," not "this is her who is speaking."

THIS IS HER, sounds more proper and correct i think.

"This is she" is the appropriate answer.

they're both correct, and they both made sense. altho i think it's much better if you use 'this is her' because at least you're safe with the grammar.

'This is she' sounds better than 'this is her'. Her should be used when showing possession-her book or her brother. 'This is she speaking' and not 'this is her speaking'.

I thought if someone is looking for a specific person and that specific person is yourself, you should answer "Yes, it's ME" ? or wouldn't "Yes, this is so and so speaking..." sounds better?

As the world is going more and more gender neutral, both "this is she" and "this is her" is less desireable. "Speaking" is good. "How can I help you?" is good. Or "This is" is also good.
