Today I tried to get a flu shot from a pharmacist lady at Kmart? |
but I told her I changed my mind after I watched her open the medicine bottle and needle with her hands. I was just standing there and I watched her pick up the telephone and then handle the needle and she started pricking the needle with the hand she just answered the telephone with. Never putting on gloves or any sanitary stuff before she told me to put my arm out for the shot. I told her no, I changed my mind because I did not feel it was sanitary and I did not want to get any staff infections, etc.. A few technicians standing there made fun of me and they said the medicine was now opened. I had not paid for the shot at that point and I said no.. I just can't and I left. Was I being overly worried or not? No and good for you!! That is definitely not how you give a shot. She should have had gloves on too. If it were me, I would call their corporate office and report them and whoever the company was providing the flu shots. They were obviously not properly trained or just didn't care. no, you were right. I think you did the right thing. Good for you for being assertive and not letting them intimidate you. You don't want to get an injection of bacteria. You were being cautious. That pharmacist was negligent in not handling the medicine and equipment in a sanitary manner. You should report her. I suggest getting any inoculations done at a proper medical clinic. hell no.that ho should have had gloves on before touching that stuff. Not at all. Gloves & alcohol gel are pretty much used everywhere as a universal precaution. You could, if you feel strongly enough about it, report it to your State Board of Health. (I would, if I were you.) I can't even remember the number of shots I have had or the number of times I have had blood drawn without anyone wearing gloves. As long as they scrub your skin with alcohol and don't actually touch the needle there is very little to worry about. no, you weren't. you were being very obseritive. and you were very correct in telling her you changed your mind. i would report this to the health department in your area so they can at least file a report. Please call KMART head quarters and report this woman and also the state board of pharmacy. She needs to learn how to handle sterile products, and not infect people. Good for you for not getting it today, but do get your flu shot soon somewhere else , not KMART !!!!!!! And the techs laughing at you, report them to the state board of pharmacy on their conduct. I think that is a sign that you should avoid the vaccine. Honestly you really shouldn't be worried about her being unsanitary, when you are getting that poison injected into you anyway. It has mercury and other toxins and most times do more harm then good. The vaccine only has 3 flu viruses and there are so many out there, that it really does not protect you from much. So I would just avoid it. Get plenty of rest, eat good, and drink a lot of water. Check this out: |
