Black & White?

Ok hear me out.
We talk about how much non-whites have contributed to this world but I would like to find out exactly what they have contributed. I want to know exactly what they have contributed that benefits mankind. I'm not talking about something that benefits a minority or the majority but the WHOLE of mankind; examples like Karl Benz who invented the automobile - benefits everybody. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone - benefits everybody.
Answers along the lines of Newton or Curie are not accepted they merely discovered something that already existed so it doesn't count, neither does Shakespeare or for example Dr King, again i've yet to feel any benefit from either of their works, so again these do not count.
Please, this is not a forum for any sort of racism, so if you do have comments like that. Keep them to yourself. If you don't like the question then don't answer, this isn't a mud-slinging forum but please state the ethnicity of the person in your answer.

Please keep your answers relevant. Inventing a biscuit cutter doesn't really benefit mankind.
In response to some answers this is not a racist witch hunt, I don't need to reasearch my own question I thought that's what google answers is for, and don't go on about blaming whites or blacks for anything. No racism remember!

That's Scotland contributions and all largely white males

Study history and look at it from a non-Eurocentric bias.

Why do so many others have to do work for you?

Seriously, it's like asking what women have given society.

BLACK DO JUST AS MUCH IN THIS WORLD THAN ANY OTHER RACE

Go read a history book.

I love being black wouldn't change for anything in the world

If you were to research with a few simple searches, you can answer your own question.

Obviously your question is a result from your eurocentric education and your repressed bigotry.

Look all cultures and groups contribute things to society like it or not. Also an invention is also made up of many inventions that have come from "black people". Dont be so biased

i just wanted to say kudo to Foo how long did it take you to type all that lol
no no hold on what the hell is europe ized come on that Bullsh!t but then again most blacks have been African ized history lession meaning Blacks did it first.... but the Europeans got the credit or they stole it from us Constant rewriting of history before long they will be saying the Greeks and Romans was black and King Arthur was Black

Please note that ALL OF THESE PEOPLE ARE AFRICAN-AMERCIANS:

alice parker-- invented the heating furnace
dr. charles drew--invented blood banks that are used WORLDWIDE
frederick jones--car engine, generator, air conditioner and the x-ray machine (yes this man was talented)
g.w. murray--fertilizer dispenser
g.t. sampson--invented the clothing dryer
granville woods-- the telephone, brakes for trains, the third rail and the steam boiler/radiator
h.a. jackson-- the kitchen table
henry sampson-- THE CELL PHONE

j.l love-- the pencil sharpener
john a johnson-- the wrench
john burr-- the lawn mower
John standard-- the REFRIGERATOR!!!
mc harney-- the lamp
paul e williams-- the helicopter..... and i am going to stop now, there are over a 144 black inventors check the link out below

Too me this is a racists comment because what is your point by trying to find out what black people has done to benefit whites. Even if they did alot of white people will not recognize that because white people feel that anyone who is not white is beneath them. Like black people is too stupid to create things. To answer your question yes, blacks have done a good amount of things to benefit mankind however, I have to do my research. I know that peanut butter was from a black person and there is more. What is wrong with you racists people? Why do you guys hate blacks so much too make an issue about everything. God has made all of us different for a good reason. Why don't you people try having more love in your heart instead of haterd. Maybe this world would be a better place, I blame a lot of white people for the way things are today.

Dr. Patricia Bath, an ophthalmologist from New York, but living in Los Angeles when she received her patent, became the first African American woman doctor to receive a patent for a medical invention. Patricia Bath's patent (no. 4,744,360), a method for removing cataract lenses, transformed eye surgery, using a laser device making the procedure more accurate.

George Carruthers has gained international recognition for his work which focuses on ultraviolet observations of the earth's upper atmosphere and of astronomical phenomena. Ultraviolet light is the electromagnetic radiation between visible light and x-rays. George Carruthers first major contribution to science was to lead the team that invented the far ultraviolet camera spectrograph. He developed the first moon-based space observatory, an ultraviolet camera that was carried to the moon by Apollo 16 astronauts in 1972. The camera was positioned on the moon's surface and allowed researchers to examine the Earth's atmosphere for concentrations of pollutants.
Dr. George Carruthers received a patent for his invention the "Image Converter for Detecting Electromagnetic Radiation specially in Short Wave Lengths" on November 11, 1969.

Sarah Goode was the first African American women to receive a U.S. patent. Patent #322,177 was issued on July 14, 1885 for a cabinet bed. Sarah Goode was the owner of a Chicago furniture store.

Jan Matzeliger was born in Paramaribo, Dutch Guiana in 1852. He was a shoemaker by trade, the son of an African homemaker and a Dutch engineer, in whose machine shop Jan Matzeliger began working at the age of ten.

Jan Matzeliger immigrated to the United States at age 18 and went to work in a shoe factory in Philadelphia. Shoes then were hand made, a slow tedious process. Jan Matzeliger helped revolutionize the shoe industry by developing a shoe lasting machine that would attach the sole to the shoe in one minute.

The shoe lasting machine adjusts the shoe leather upper snugly over the mold, arranges the leather under the sole and pins it in place with nails while the sole is stitched to the leather upper

Rufus Stokes was an inventor born in Alabama in 1924. He later moved to Illinois, where he worked as a machinist for an incinerator company.
In 1968, Rufus Stokes was granted a patent on an air-purification device to reduce the gas and ash emissions of furnace and powerplant smokestack emissions. The filtered output from the stacks became almost transparent. Stokes tested and demonstrated several models of stack filters, termed the "clean air machine", in Chicago and elsewhere to show its versatility.
The system benefited the respiratory health of people, but also eased the health risks to plants and animals. A side-effect of reduced industrial stack emissions was the improved appearance and durability of buildings, cars, and objects exposed to outdoor pollution for lengthy periods.

On May 7, 1878, the fire escape ladder was patented by Joseph Winters. Joseph Winters invented a wagon-mounted fire escape ladder for the city of Chambersburg, PA.

Otis Boykin invented the electrical resisitor (Black)
Paul Eisler invented the printed circuit board (White)

Lin B
Alphonse Beau de Rochas invented the combustion engine
Wilhelm Rontgen invented the first x-ray machine

The story that the US Army equipped its troops with Garrett Morgan's mask during World War I is not true. Finding no civilian mask suitable for the rigors of chemical warfare, the Army initially had to borrow gas masks from its British and French allies who, having been in the war longer, had developed superior chemical defense technology. The gas mask was a device invented in 1847 by Lewis P. Haslett of Louisville, KY

Shall I go on?

Music. Blacks helped to creat Jazz, Rock, Rap and more when we had them as slaves. They played banjos, and it evolved into our music today.

ooh ohhohhohhoohoho got cha!!!!!

Look up where the research for blood plasma came from. It was a black man who was later denied a transfusion based on race after a car accident.

one invented Signals you have on road to not kill small school girl coming out fro mschool

if you don't know
you can use wikipedia and see black sciencists

additionally the most Africa is poor and in USA there was slavery long time so they have no much time............
but now they are many Black scientcists kutasku jebany

actually. you need to go back to the drawaing board on your question. because automobiles dont benefit everybody because not everybody has one, not to mention the harm they do to the environment. Same for the telephone.

You guys believe some of that crap you posted? Many of those inventions you claim for black inventors are false....cell phone, fridge, phone, wrench, lightbulb, steasm boiler, furnace, car engine, etc. Im not saying black people have not contributed, only that someone made up a lot of crap and convinced you idiots it was true.

Phone and lightbulb...Bell
Cell phone....Dr Martin Cooper
Car engine....Karl Benz
Wrench? you are kidding right? There are hundreds of types and they have been used for centuries.

Im sure some of those black inventors made improvements and additions to pre-existing items, but a good bit of those inventions blacks are claiming were made in the European and then the American industrial revolutions.

You should really google this or do more research because Blacks are definitely the foundation of this coutry, whether you want to admit it or not. Please, do some research before you insinuate or imply that Blacks have not contributed anything.

read books and open your mind and stop being so critical and judgemental and narrowminded.

You really should do your research before you ask this type of question! but oh well you might learn something today with the answers the above people have given you!.

they have contributed alot i'll have u know, Guns , Knieves , Muggings , Ghetho's , Black On Black Crime , Happy Slap , AIDS, TB , and much more wondefull things to White countries.
