Question for parents & teachers....should child abuse prevention taught be at home or school?

I think that BOTH should be involved, in that case kids can be reached at school if the parents don't teach it, and the parents should reinforce or go through such things periodically with kids to keep them safe and teach them what to look for, and what to do if something (or someone) is suspicious.

Do you think that it's the job of the teachers or the parents to help teach kids about abuse, contact with strangers, appropriate and inappropraite adult behavior, safety in answering the door or telephone, etc.?

With the way the world is now, kids should be taught by both parents and teachers. The more info they have, the safer they can be.

I believe that expectant parents should be offered classes in parenting BEFORE the children are born. This will reduce the risk of neglect and abuse at home. Preventing abuse from strangers should be common knowledge for the kiddies, wherever the info comes from.
