I'm thinking of importing jewelry from india. whats "required"? --- customs and such. have read gov't. guide.

the gov't. guide is SO confusing! what i've been able to figure out is --- as long as i use fed-ex --- its a cake walk! have been trying to find answers on internet, telephone, etc. 0 success! friend said there's customs fees --- who do i ask?

Your best bet would be to contact a local Customs Broker as they deal with import regulations all day. Also, a lot of Couriers have their own in house brokerage department. So if you know what courier you will be using, contact them and ask if you can speak to someone in the Customs Brokerage department, they should be able to either transfer you or give you another phone number to call.

You have to speak "Hindi" first before you make business with Indians... right?
