I came to the US to work, the company did the H1B visa for me.?

I am not familiar with the rights I have in this country, vacations, any gratification for Christmas, compensation for working time, etc. Anybody knows the answer or have any website or telephone I could call??? Thanks

You should qualify for the same rights to holidays and sick days allowed, health care plans options; 401K plans, just like any other employee. Contact your HR dept for details of what their company offers.

With your individual rights being on a H1B, this should of been explained at the time you signed your contract, if not speak to HR or your immigration lawyer. Remember you can not start changing jobs or seeking employment as a second job basically. Also if they fire you they are financially responsible for getting you back to your home country

The H1B visa program is an indentured servant program. Maybe an immigration attorney.

Companies usually hand out a packet for employment that lets you know what holidays they recognize, how many days vacations you get or will accrue and how overtime will be compensated. It is not the same for every company, every state or the whole country in any manner. Some companies are open on all holidays. Some offer flex time. Some make you accrue sick and vacation time. Some offer it up front. Some give flex time rather than pay at an overtime rate. Some give bonuses and others give none. It all depends on your employment package. Talk to your companies personnel department and ask to have it all clarified.
