True. Todays society hides behing e-mail, IM's, and phone calls. We need to make time for one on one communication for better social skills. We cant hide behind our pc's or isolate ourselves to the house. Maybe this is one of the reasons todays society is suffering an epidemic in depression. To communicate w/one another and to get out and be apart of society freshens the mind and soul. Plus, face to face...you can read the person better. In the writing form, a feeling can be misinterpreted by reading it wrong.

When I need to ask my wife a question and I'm at work and she's at home 20 miles away, it's much easier to communicate with phone or email than face-to-face.

The type of communication needed depends on the situation & who is involved. The closer you are to a person, the more personal the communication needed; i.e. face-to-face. For people you are not close to, letters, email & phone are fine. In a long-distance relationship, any form of communication is fine; the main thing is to keep communicating.

I agree. When talking face to face you get the whole feeling behind what the other is trying to say. The emotions are much stronger. You might get it all messed up and interpret things differently through letters, emails and sometimes on the phone.

sometimes writing it down and being able to look at it help with what you are trying to say. Things don't just come out that you can't take back.

YES! I totally agree. Why? Because it is direct. He/she doesn't have a choice they have to liston regardless. On the phone, email, etc... Is point less it gets nowhere.

Depends on the individual, for some people it is easier to express themselves in a letter, e-mail, or phone. The problem with e-mail and a letter is the Tone that is being perceived. Either way, it is the other persons perception of the communication that would be the issue.

i agree with that statement. You never know what is going on with anyone unless you talk to them face-to-face

It all depends on what you are communicating. For instance if you want to break up with someone it is better to do that face-to-face. but if you are just asking a simple question like "What would you like for dinner?' then that can be done on the phone.... it all depends on the subject.
