For the breeders: Female dog ate chocolate -had mild symptoms-let puppies nurse?

Late lastnight she had a tad bit of a fever and was restless- I posted yesterday if its ok to let the puppies nurse, the people that did answer said wait until morning if theres no symptoms. Well, its morning and she did have some symptoms... So what do I do. Those of you who suggest a vet- I've tried that my vet won't answer any questions until they see the patient, and other vet places wont answer any questions unless your a client with them. (had one very annoyed telephone call to a different vet- VERY FRUSTRATING!) So, in conclusion if theobromine gave mild symptoms to the *****, what would it do to the puppies if anything? Thanks

She ate 3-4 oz semi sweet and 2-3oz baking choc again- mild symptoms fever for about an hour and restlessness for 1-2 hours that was it

Yes it can make the pups heart rate go up to high and cause them to get agitated. If she is still feeling the symptoms of the chocolate than maybe she should be seen by your vet. She should not have a fever at all.

let the pups nurse and watch to make sure the pups do not get diarea , You must let the pups nurse or your female will get milk fever

If the mom is having symptoms it is in her blood stream and therefore her milk. With such small pups I would stay on the safe side and not let them nurse for a few days.
Others may be able to give you more advice, but I would not let a sick b itch nurse.

It depends on how much choclate your dog ate!! like I give my dog a few chocolate chips once in a while..
