Good question. Cheney and Bush established within 24 hours after the 911 events who was to blame. This focused all of the american fear, hatred and indignation upon OBL and Al Qaeda. Once impregnated, it would be blatantly unpatriotic to challenge the official story once established in those very few hours. This was an inside job.

Just read the so called 911 Commission's report. It's a whitewash - a rubber stamp of everything fed to it by the WH.
It is not an investigation - it's propaganda. Just read it.

So given that, the answer to your question is that 1) it can be countered by people claiming the old conspiracy theory thing 2) it's branded as unpatriotic 3) in the end, the Cheney and Bush will always have plausible deniability.

It was an act of terrorism. The fact that people are still trying to blame the government slays me. WHY must you constantly try to blame this on the USA when Bin Laden clearly accepts responsibility? Is is your incessant hatred for Bush, or the fact that you have nothing else to do with your day?

When people obsess on the WHY and fail to move forward, we, as a nation fail to grow. I fear that is exactly what is happening to America. How sad.
