Would you be annoyed?

I'm a receptionist, so I have my own desk and computer and telephone. One of the guys I work with, who has HIS own desk and computer and telephone, has been talking on MY phone for about 10 minutes. When the phone rings, I have to get up from my desk and go into another room to answer it! And he's talking about personal crap.

Grrrrrrr.....

If it's a weird person that brings in many animals: Tell him you'll chop up the next animal he brings into the office, dead or alive, if he doesn't get off the phone.

Normal person: 1. Go use his phone. 2. Hang up your phone that he's using. 3. Tell your boss that he's using your phone for non-work related reasons.

yeah, i would tell him to go back to hisown desk and use his own phone. good luck.

same happens to me. i hate that crap. then i have to haul arss in my heels down the tile hallway into another office to get the phone, and of course its for the idiot who is on my phone!

Staple his fingers to the desk

I truly sympathize with my fellow receptionist/secretaries...you could try stapling his pants to your desk (heeheehee). Or flick some rubber bands at him. Salt in his coffee?? ( I pity my own co-workers today!! lol)

My job is similar..... I'm an administrative assistant..I still work on loans, but I do have to answer the phone..... I get annoyed when someone sits at my desk for any reason at all.... I don't like them to talk on my phone at all... and for 10 minutes?? That would be..."Get the hell up and go to your own desk!"

Grrr....sounds like he can use a cold shower. Ah just hate it when folks intrude on me personal space, ya know...

Call his wife and tell her he is having an office affair.....get him where it hurts....No wife, try girlfriend....if there is no one....staple his balls to the desk......oops, sorry, my mistake....ha ha

Don't ya just hate that????? Some people just don't realize how self-aborbed and inconsiderate they are. I made up a phrase for it ....."unconscious selfishness"....

I think I would accidently on purpose hang up the phone when I got up and my hand slip down on the dissconnect button... That is just pure rude.

Yes it would be annoying but a better question should be why is he doing this in the first place. He could just be an a** or maybe he wants you to hear about his personal life ( i.e. he likes you or wants to make you jealous).

I used to do reception (pre-kids) and yes it was extremely annoying. I find when the person sits on your desk (not your chair) while doing that is even worse!

Glue the receiver to the phone unit. That'll teach him.

Yes,I would definitely be annoyed! Esp when hes the type to take over your desk by sitting on it! Who does he think he is? If it really bothers u that much,tell your supervisor so he can get his a** in trouble!

wtf? go over to his desk and put your feet up on his desk and eat something that creates lots of crumbs and stuff...and then look at him like he is crazy when he asks you what the hell is up.

year that would be annoying is there anyway you can tell it's his number? just turn it off when he calls.
